Estate Chardonnay
Wine
Kooyong Estate Chardonnay draws from the winery's Faultline and Farrago Blocks on the cool climate, maritime influenced Mornington Peninsula.
Parcels of fruit are harvested from the vineyards' various soils and mesoclimates. The intention is for each parcel to articulate its unique characteristics in the final wine.
The grapes are whole bunch pressed into French oak barrels, a small proportion new. Fermentation is with ambient yeasts. After 12 months ageing on lees without stirring, the wine is bottled unfined.
Pale straw, Kooyong Estate Chardonnay has persistent stone fruit flavours, fresh citrus acidity and subtle texture. Cellaring potential is six years.
